– Online counselling is a way to communicate with a mental health professional via an internet platform like a phone or computer. This can include messaging, live chat, phone calls, or video chat.
Online counsellors are qualified mental health professionals and provide similar treatments online as they do in person.
Studies have shown that the benefits of online counselling are the same as in-room counselling.

This method of therapy means avoiding traveling long distances and the booking of urgent or emergency sessions are made possible, due to time flexibility.  In addition, you can physically see your counsellor via their webcam, so it still feels like a natural conversation. 

Each session is a total of 50 minutes. The number of sessions varies depending on your unique situation and preferences. 

Unfortunately not, because we operate as an out-of-network provider.

However, we can provide you with a superbill which you can then submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. 

To begin with, we will have a free 15-minute consultation online in which we can get to know each other and ascertain your goals and subsequent treatment plan. Once that is done, we will commence our 50-minute sessions together, typically on a weekly basis, for as long as deemed necessary. 
Our approach is tailored to meet each individual’s specific needs and goals. Here at Mind Matters, we strongly believe in holistic healing so we will recommend various activities to occur outside of our sessions. For example, some form of exercise on a weekly basis is strongly encouraged along with adherence to our food recommendations to include in your diet for gut health (happy gut=happy mind!). A list of books will be recommended and updated frequently. Lastly, breathwork and meditation help you to unwind and feel grounded  and are most certainly encouraged by our counsellors for an all-rounded revival of health. 

Confidentiality is essential to building trust and it is therefore highly valued at Mind Matters. We offer you a private, safe space in which you can unburden yourself freely and everything will remain private and confidential. 

Rather than addressing individual symptoms, a holistic therapist will look for the underlying cause by considering physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual states of health and well-being.
